Poland’s Internal Security Agency, together with the police and U.S. services, detained a Russian citizen who was preparing a murder in Warsaw.

This was reported by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, as quoted by Polsat News.

According to investigators, the detainee acted on instructions from Russian special services. His target was a man with dual citizenship — the United States and Ukraine — who is an “inconvenient” figure for Putin’s regime.

Law enforcement managed to prevent the killing at the last moment. Tusk stressed that this is the first case in which a contract assassination of a U.S. citizen, on Russia’s instructions, was attempted on the territory of another NATO country.

Minister-Coordinator of the Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak confirmed that the special operation was carried out on August 7. The head of the Polish government warned that the Kremlin will continue trying to eliminate its opponents in different parts of the world.
