Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has codified the new OWL-APC "Sova APC" armored personnel carrier, developed and manufactured by a Ukrainian company. It is intended for transporting personnel, providing fire support, conducting special operations, and performing other tasks in challenging conditions.

This was reported by the agency’s press service.

The "Sova APC" features a 4×4 wheel configuration, compact dimensions, high mobility, a significant operating range, and low battlefield visibility. According to the Defence Ministry, during testing the armored personnel carrier confirmed its stated specifications. Other advantages cited include low weight, lower operating costs, and easier maintenance.

The armored personnel carrier has a V-shaped monocoque hull, a double bottom, blast-absorbing components, and blast-resistant seats for the troops. The modular troop compartment can be refitted within a few hours for medical evacuation.

A distinctive feature of the "Sova APC" is its proprietary 360-degree VR situational awareness system with night vision. The driver uses VR goggles and can see the situation around the armored personnel carrier.

The Defence Ministry notes that the new APC is part of a lineup of Ukrainian armored vehicles.
