On 13 August and overnight into 14 August, Ukrainian Defence Forces units struck two ground-based relay stations used to control Geran and Gerbera attack drones. The Ukrainian military also targeted five Russian UAV control centres.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.

The relay stations were struck near Zaliznyy Port in Kherson Region. They transmit control and communications signals between operators and drones, extending the range and improving the stability of their operation.

Five enemy UAV control centres were targeted near Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Region, Zaliznyy Port in Kherson Region, Volfinsky and Hordiyivka in Russia’s Kursk Region, and Luhove in Zaporizhzhya Region.

The General Staff said the Defence Forces continue to target key Russian military facilities to reduce the enemy’s ability to use unmanned systems and conduct combat operations.

  • On 12 August, the Defence Forces reported striking a relay station near Olenivka in temporarily occupied Crimea. Ukrainian troops also hit a Russian repair unit near Mariupol in Donetsk Region.
  • Another target was a concentration of personnel from the Russian occupiers’ UAV unit near Marivka in Luhansk Region.
