Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the port of Ust-Luga. Fire Point reported this.

As a result of the attack, damage and a fire were recorded in the port area.

Ust-Luga is one of Russia’s largest ports on the Baltic Sea. Significant volumes of crude oil and petroleum products, coal, fertilizers, liquefied gas, and other cargo pass through the port.

Context

As of now, seaborne shipments of Russian oil have fallen to their lowest level since May, Bloomberg writes. The decline is driven by the situation at the port of Novorossiysk, which is operating at only half its capacity due to attacks on tankers near the facility.

In addition, shipment volumes at the Baltic port of Ust-Luga have halved. Russia’s earnings have not fallen significantly, however, because oil prices remain high.
