As of the morning of August 20, 462 State Emergency Service rescuers and 116 units of specialized equipment are working to deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack.

The overnight attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region lasted almost nine hours: dozens of missiles and jet-powered drones. There were hits on residential buildings and a children’s hospital. According to Koretskyi, at least 13 people are known to have been killed. Forty people were injured and are receiving the necessary assistance.
In Boryspil, there was a strike on food warehouses and Red Cross facilities. Rescuers continue to put out fires.
Civilian infrastructure in Odesa and Chernihiv regions was also attacked overnight.
- On the night of August 20, the Russian army carried out a massive missile-and-drone strike on Ukraine. The enemy’s main target was the Kyiv region. Russia launched ballistic, cruise and air-launched missiles, loitering munitions, and drones. Air defenses neutralized some of the targets.
