On the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence Day, European Council President António Costa, Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, Estonian President Alar Karis and UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham arrived in Kyiv. This was reported by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

In a post about the arrival of the distinguished guests, Sybiha noted that for Ukraine, independence is not an abstract idea. Ukraine is defending it.

“Today we know exactly who our true friend is,” the minister commented, thanking all partners who have helped.

Today, Kyiv will host a meeting of the coalition of the willing, chaired by UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham. This is his first foreign trip since taking office on 20 July.
