Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on Russia’s strikes on Ukraine yesterday and overnight and called for strengthening air defenses.
He wrote about it on Telegram.
In Kryvyi Rih, at the site of yesterday’s strike by the Russians on a shopping center, emergency rescue operations are ongoing. The fire, which covered an area of 9,000 square meters, has been extinguished, and State Emergency Service specialists are now clearing debris and continuing the search for people. Rescuers from seven regions and canine teams are involved. So far, 16 people are known to have been killed and 130 injured, including 23 children.
From the evening and throughout the night, there were also missile and drone strikes. In particular, Zelenskyy wrote that in Kyiv, ballistic strikes damaged railway infrastructure. One person was killed and another was wounded.
In Zaporizhzhia, the Russians hit a city minibus with an FPV drone, injuring three people. Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, Chernihiv, and Mykolaiv regions were also shelled. Residential buildings, energy and railway infrastructure facilities, and civilian businesses were damaged.
“Every day Ukraine lacks air defense means victims who could have been avoided. Protecting lives requires daily decisions and effective support from the world, and right now it is precisely new deliveries of interceptors for ballistic and other missiles that can help. Thank you to everyone who helps our people and supports Ukraine with real steps,” the head of state wrote.
