Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence Directorate, in the “Components in Weapons” section of the War&Sanctions portal, has published an interactive 3D model of the Su-35S multirole fighter and details of 79 companies involved in cooperation on its production.

According to the DIU, the enemy mainly uses these aircraft to provide cover for its strike groups of Su-34 fighter-bombers, ground forces and facilities, to intercept Ukrainian UAVs and cruise missiles, and to counter the air defence systems of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

The companies listed carry out development work and are involved in producing the aircraft’s engines and fuel system, its control, communications, guidance and electronic warfare systems, as well as the main air-launched missiles used with the Su-35S as a carrier in the war against Ukraine.

Twenty-two of them are still not under sanctions by any country in the sanctions coalition, including:

  • Rubin Aviation Corporation PJSC — a supplier of aircraft braked and unbraked wheels;
  • Gidroavtomatika PJSC — a manufacturer of AU46-05 control units that form part of the aircraft’s fuel system;
  • Oktava Research Institute JSC, which carried out research and development work as part of the Su-35S multirole fighter programme.

Intelligence officials stress that synchronising sanctions efforts against all links in Russia’s military-industrial complex is an important component in creating the conditions for a just peace in Ukraine and restoring stability in the world.
