A fire has broken out at a plant producing parts for drones in Skarżysko-Kamienna, Poland, Radio Kielce reports. The factory belongs to WB Electronics, one of Poland’s largest defence industry manufacturers.
Anna Sławińska, press officer at the county police headquarters, said that around midnight an operator from a security firm reported that an anti-intrusion sensor had been triggered on the factory premises. This happened in a room near a warehouse where electronic components were stored.
“Police officers were immediately dispatched to the scene. It was established that the fire started in the assembly department. At the time the fire broke out, the factory was not operating and no one was injured. Police officers are still working at the scene, securing the area and inspecting the fire site using a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera. They are also carrying out extensive operational measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances and causes of this incident,” Sławińska said.
Law enforcement has not ruled out arson. Anna Sławińska urged people to beware of disinformation and fake news.

The company is implementing joint projects with the Kyiv-based firm Radionix, which specialises in radar systems, and the Kharkiv-based FED plant, which manufactures units for aviation and armoured vehicles. WB Electronics supplies components for production to Ukraine and also purchases Ukrainian technologies and products that complement Polish developments.
