Ukraine is working with the European Commission to secure financial support for 2026–2027. This concerns meeting commitments under the Ukraine Plan and the Memorandum of Understanding on macro-financial assistance.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyy reported this following talks with the European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Valdis Dombrovskis.
According to the Prime Minister, the government expects to make full use of the financial resources provided for by the relevant European instruments. The necessary government decisions are planned to be adopted by 1 November.
In parallel, the Cabinet of Ministers is working with the Verkhovna Rada to pass the necessary legislation.
The parties also agreed to strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian ministries and the relevant Directorates-General of the European Commission, as well as coordination with the International Monetary Fund and other international partners.
“It is important to have a clear and agreed picture of Ukraine’s budgetary and defence needs for 2026 and 2027,” Koretskyy noted.
Separately, the Prime Minister stressed the need to increase pressure on Russia. In particular, this includes further tightening sanctions, monitoring compliance, and countering attempts to circumvent restrictions.
Koretskyy also underlined that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union remains an unconditional priority. Ukraine is counting on the remaining negotiating clusters being opened as soon as possible.
