Over the past day, Russian forces attacked the Zhytomyr region with drones, with strikes recorded. Two people were killed and two others were injured. Petrol stations and railway infrastructure were damaged.

This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Bunechko.

Russian strikes damaged fuel and transport infrastructure facilities, as well as residential buildings.

In total, four filling stations were damaged in the Zviahel and Korosten districts, along with three civilian cars, a grocery shop and an infrastructure facility. Two fires also broke out in open areas.

According to the State Emergency Service, rescuers extinguished fires that broke out at filling stations and railway infrastructure facilities as a result of the Russian attack.

Because of the threat of repeat strikes, emergency workers had to suspend operations and move to safe locations. Once the threat subsided, rescuers returned to deal with the aftermath.

A total of 42 rescuers and nine pieces of equipment were deployed. All fire hotspots have now been extinguished.
