Operators from the Black Sky unmanned systems battalion of the Spartan Brigade struck a Russian Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile system. The cost of such a system is estimated at about $25m.
This was reported by National Guard commander Oleksandr Pivnenko.
“Operators from the Black Sky unmanned systems battalion of the Spartan Brigade detected and struck a Tor-M1 surface-to-air missile system, which the enemy had deployed deep in the rear, near occupied Vuhledar,” the statement said.
The Tor-M1 is a mobile surface-to-air missile system designed to protect troops and key facilities from aircraft, missiles and drones.
Pivnenko noted that Russian forces have been using such systems in the war against Ukraine since 2014.
