Ukraine could receive Germany’s latest Wingcopter 262 reconnaissance drone, which can remain airborne for up to six hours and has a tactical range of up to 150 km.

Representatives of the German company Wingcopter GmbH told Militarnyi this.

The Wingcopter 262 is a vertical take-off and landing unmanned aircraft with a tactical range of up to 150 kilometres. The aircraft’s maximum take-off weight is just 10 kg, and its endurance can reach six hours.

The drone is equipped with EO/IR cameras with artificial intelligence support, data and video transmission systems, as well as positioning technology that has already been tested in real operating conditions in Ukraine.

The unmanned aircraft has a modular design and is intended for rapid deployment with minimal operator workload. No special launch infrastructure is required – a single operator can prepare the aircraft for a mission in a matter of minutes.

The Wingcopter 262 features a fully electric powerplant and a tilting-rotor design. Its wingspan measures 262 centimetres, which is where the aircraft gets its name.

As part of the “Build with Ukraine” initiative, Wingcopter is working with the Ukrainian company TAF Industries.

The German company noted that the cooperation envisages serial production of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones, as well as providing Ukraine with access to the Wingcopter 262.

Earlier, TAF Industries and Wingcopter signed a memorandum on establishing a joint venture to manufacture drones.

Wingcopter GmbH is a German technology company that develops, manufactures, sells and operates fully electric unmanned aerial vehicles.
