Fires have broken out at an oil refinery in Yaroslavl and at a military airfield in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

According to Yaroslavl Region Governor Mikhail Yevrayev, the oil refinery has been damaged and firefighters are tackling a blaze there. He said 65 drones were allegedly shot down over the region.

Earlier, analysts concluded that the “Slavneft – YANOS” refinery in Yaroslavl had caught fire. The facility has been attacked repeatedly and in 2026 it has burned at least eight times.

Meanwhile, Rostov Region Governor Yury Slyusar complained that power had gone out in four districts of Rostov-on-Don. He said there were “consequences, a fire broke out and was promptly extinguished”, and that debris from a UAV allegedly damaged a transformer substation.

Earlier, the outlet established that the fire occurred on the grounds of the “Rostov-on-Don — Central” military airfield, likely in the area where aircraft and helicopters are parked.

Russia’s Defence Ministry claims that overnight, 641 drones were allegedly intercepted and destroyed over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kostroma, Kursk, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Oryol, Tambov, Rostov, Tula and Yaroslavl regions, Krasnodar Krai, the Moscow region, the Republic of Crimea, and over the waters of the Sea of Azov, the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea.
