On the night of 17 September and at dawn, the Russians attacked railway infrastructure. The station building in Berestyn, Kharkiv region, and the infrastructure of a ring suburban rail station in Kyiv were damaged. No one was hurt.
Ukrzaliznytsia’s press service reported this.
“The painful part: before dawn, an enemy UAV caused serious damage to the Berestyn station building. Passengers and station staff were in the shelter; an inspection of the infrastructure is now under way, and we are not cancelling trains to Berestyn,” they said.
In Kyiv, the infrastructure of the Mykilska Slobidka ring suburban rail station was affected. Since the morning, the Kyiv City Express has been running on a restricted loop, bypassing the Darnytsia — Pochaina section. Repairs will take a day.
Glass and doors were damaged on an electric train, at the depot, and at several other Ukrzaliznytsia facilities.
All train delays can be checked on uz-vezemo. Some trains, for example No. 7/8 Odesa – Kharkiv and No. 53/54 Dnipro – Odesa, will travel via a reserve, safer route, increasing the estimated journey time by +6 hours.
- The Russian side is trying to obtain information about Ukrzaliznytsia facilities, their location and condition, as well as the movement of military cargo. The enemy may use the information obtained for further strikes on railway infrastructure.
