Yesterday, 17 September, and overnight into 18 September 2026, units of Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck a number of important Russian facilities in the temporarily occupied territories.
The General Staff reported this.
In the area of the settlement of Novofedorivka, at the Saky airfield in Crimea, an enemy ground control station for Orion unmanned aerial vehicles was hit.
Orion (Inokhodets) is a Russian long-endurance reconnaissance and strike unmanned system (MALE class). It can remain airborne for up to 24 hours, conduct electro-optical reconnaissance and target designation at altitudes of up to 7.5 km, and carry guided air weapons (guided missiles and aerial bombs with a total weight of up to 200–250 kg) to strike ground targets.
Striking the ground control station significantly limits the Russians’ use of these systems in the relevant operational direction.
In the Donetsk area, a site used to store, prepare and launch strike UAVs was hit.
In addition, in Luhansk Region, strikes were confirmed on an enemy ammunition depot in the area of Dovzhansk, as well as a depot of materiel belonging to the Russian forces in the area of Kypuche.
Work against the Russia's key military targets is continuing, the General Staff said.
