Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a bilateral meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on the sidelines of the G8 summit. The sides discussed assistance for Ukraine.
The head of state reported this on his social media.
According to the President, during the meeting the sides discussed the importance of maintaining unity and working together to end the war.
“Ukraine and Poland are strong neighbours, friends and partners, and we have one common enemy. Today, above all, we spoke about how important it is to preserve our unity and work together to stop this war,” Zelenskyy noted.
The President also thanked Poland for a new package of assistance to Ukraine: “This is an important step of support for us, and we appreciate it.”
Zelenskyy and Tusk also discussed the further development of the Carpathian Initiative and the opportunities it could create for countries in the Carpathian macro-region.
Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is ready to share its experience with Poland and is open to mutually beneficial co-operation.
“This is exactly how relations between our states should continue to be built,” the President concluded.
