Two people have been killed in Russia’s attacks on Sumy Region. A 14-year-old girl is among those injured.
This was reported by the Regional Military Administration.
In the Sumy community, a 38-year-old woman was killed in an enemy drone strike, and a 41-year-old man was wounded.
In the Khutir-Mykhaylivska community, a 54-year-old man was killed in an enemy drone strike.
In the Hlukhiv community, a 33-year-old man was wounded in a Russian drone strike.
In the Konotop community, a 14-year-old girl was injured in a UAV attack.
Over the past day, from the morning of 20 September to the morning of 21 September 2026, Russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 20 settlements across 12 territorial communities in the region.
The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka districts.
Settlements in the Sumy, Krasnopillya, Yunakivka, Khotin, Mykolayivka rural, Hlukhiv, Khutir-Mykhaylivka, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Shalyhyne, Novoslobidske and Velyka Pysarivka communities came under Russian fire.
The Russian forces used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs against Sumy Region.
Civilian infrastructure was damaged and destroyed:
- in the Sumy community, an apartment block, civilian infrastructure facilities, cars, a lorry and a non-residential building were damaged, and a car was destroyed;
- in the Hlukhiv community, a civilian infrastructure facility, an apartment block and a non-residential building were damaged;
- in the Znob-Novhorodske community, a residential house was destroyed;
- in the Yampil and Seredyna-Buda communities, residential houses were damaged as a result of shelling carried out by the enemy earlier.
Over the past day, the air-raid alert in the region lasted 19 hours and 1 minute.
