Ukrnafta is building physical protection at its network’s filling stations. This involves several layers of security. The first is installing gabions on filling station premises; the second is setting up mobile shelters.
This was stated by Ukrnafta CEO Bohdan Kukura in an interview with LB.ua. Work is currently under way at the company’s sites in the capital.
“Because of the intensification of Russian attacks on Kyiv, we promptly directed additional efforts towards protecting our sites in the capital. In particular, we have already begun installing gabions at Kyiv filling station complexes. The first 19 sites have already been equipped. We are also starting to install mobile shelters where there are no permanent ones nearby,” Bohdan Kukura explained.
The company head added that Ukrnafta is systematically strengthening the physical protection of its sites. Similar work was previously carried out in regions bordering Russia and in frontline areas. In particular, this includes stretching anti-drone nets around filling stations, installing gabions to provide additional protection for people and equipment from shrapnel, and installing shelters.
“At present, we are focused on ensuring service is as swift as possible. We ask customers not to linger on the premises after refuelling and making purchases. During an air-raid alert of any level, we suspend all types of service. In such a situation, it is necessary to follow staff instructions immediately and leave the site,” Bohdan Kukura said.
