The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has announced the selection of candidates for two vacant positions as independent members of the Supervisory Board of the Defence Procurement Agency. The Agency reported this on Facebook.
During the competition, candidates will be sought for the positions of independent members of the supervisory board in the areas of “Corporate and Contract Law, Procurement” and “Finance and Audit”.
The Defence Procurement Agency noted that documents for participation in the competition are being accepted for ten working days from the date the announcements are posted on the Ministry of Defence website, i.e. from 17 September.
The Ministry of Defence said that an advantage for candidates will be at least ten years’ work experience in the fields of management and administration, international relations, law, or another related area.
Candidates for positions as members of the Supervisory Board must also have experience in top-level senior management roles or at least five years of civil service or work equivalent to it.
The search for and selection of applicants is being carried out by the recruitment company Friisberg & Partners International. At the end of August 2026, the Defence Procurement Agency signed the relevant contract with it.
The Supervisory Board of the Defence Procurement Agency is meant to consist of five people — three independent members and two state representatives — but it has been operating with an incomplete membership since January 2025. At that time, independent member Patrick Auroy left the board, and his seat has remained vacant ever since. In June 2026, Kateryna Kuznetsova also left the board due to a conflict of interest that arose after the merger of the Defence Procurement Agency and the State Rear Operator: Ukrnafta, on whose supervisory board she also served, became a supplier to the Defence Procurement Agency. There are currently three members remaining on the board.
As a reminder, on 31 August Arsen Zhumadilov stepped down as head of the Agency, having led it since March 2025. Before that, from 2023, he headed the State Rear Operator. The two agencies were merged into one on 1 January 2026.
From 1 September, the acting director of the Defence Procurement Agency became Artem Romaniukov, who previously served as the Defence Procurement Agency’s Director of Development. The next step should be to complete the Agency’s supervisory board, after which it is expected to announce a competition for the post of head of the Defence Procurement Agency, conduct the selection process, and appoint a new chief by the end of 2026.
