The 66th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave has released a video of the operation to liberate Shandryholove from Russian forces.
The 66th Brigade shared details on Telegram.
The released footage shows Ukrainian troops operating directly inside the settlement. Fighters from the 2nd Mechanised Battalion “Adolfivna’s Grandchildren” and the 3rd Mechanised Battalion “Fireflies” entered Shandryholove and infiltrated the enemy’s battle formations. Ukrainian troops cut off Russian groups in the central part of the village.
After that, tank crews and reconnaissance troops carried out a sweep of the settlement to clear out the remaining Russian forces. At the same time, fighters from the 1st Mechanised Battalion and the motorised infantry battalion “Siverska Sich” operated in the woodland north of Shandryholove. In this way, they strengthened the defence of the settlements of Serednie and Shandryholove.
- On 20 September, it became known that fighters of the Third Army Corps, as part of Operation “Vivaldi”, liberated the villages of Shandryholove and Derylove in Donetsk Region, and also established full control over Drobyshcheve. According to commander Andrii Biletskyi, as part of the “second season” of the offensive operation, Ukrainian troops brought a further 40 km² of territory back under control.
