Over the past day, ten residents of the Sumy Region were injured in Russian strikes.
According to the Regional Military Administration, in the Sumy community, as a result of KAB guided bombs hitting, men aged 51 and 64 were wounded; two 37-year-olds, a 53-year-old, a 42-year-old, a 39-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were also injured. As a result of shelling with long-range weapons, a 48-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy were injured.
Over the day, from the morning of 23 September to the morning of 24 September 2026, Russian forces carried out nearly 60 attacks on 22 settlements across 12 territorial communities in the Region.
The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka districts.
Settlements in the Sumy, Stepanivka, Myropillya, Yunakivka, Khotin, Hlukhiv, Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, Esman, Putyvl, Novoslobidske and Velyka Pysarivka communities came under Russian fire.
The Russian military used artillery, mortars, multiple-launch rocket systems, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs against the territory of the Sumy Region.
Civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged and destroyed.
In the Sumy community, civilian infrastructure facilities, blocks of flats and private homes, cars, non-residential buildings and a bus were damaged.
In the Hlukhiv community, a block of flats was damaged, and in the Novoslobidske community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
In the Velyka Pysarivka community, a private home was damaged; in the Znob-Novhorodske community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
In the Seredyna-Buda and Esman communities, homes were destroyed.
Over the past day, the air-raid alert in the Region lasted 17 hours and 8 minutes.
