Kyiv came under Russian missile attack. Explosions were heard in the capital, and the Air Force warned of targets moving in from the east. A red air-raid alert level was declared.
According to monitoring channels, the enemy launched Zircon missiles and ballistic weapons at the city from Kursk and Voronezh.
Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said medics were called to the Solomyanskyy, Svyatoshynskyy and Podilskyy districts. Reports are emerging of disruptions to electricity and water supplies. According to the State Emergency Service, as of the morning eight people are known to have been injured. Two people were killed. Police reported that the dead were a 57-year-old woman in the Podilskyi district and a 65-year-old man in Solomianskyi. The injured are aged between 25 and 77. Those hurt include a police officer.
Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office said in the morning that windows were damaged at a maternity hospital and neighbouring high-rise buildings, as well as nine private homes, two post offices, more than 30 cars, and office buildings belonging to private companies. There were no casualties among patients or staff at the maternity hospital.
In the Solomyanskyy and Podilskyy districts, debris fell on the grounds of non-residential development. In the Dniprovskyi district, where debris fell into the yard of a private property, the house was partially destroyed. There may be people trapped under the rubble.

In the Podilskyy district as a result of an impact near the maternity hospital, a fire broke out in the car park, burning four vehicles. The fire has been extinguished. The body of a deceased person was found. At another location, a single-storey non-residential building was on fire. The fire has been extinguished.
In the Dniprovskyy district a three-storey administrative building was damaged. The fire has been extinguished. One injured person was found.
At another address, a private house was destroyed; the fire has been extinguished, and one person was rescued. Two neighbouring houses were damaged.
Two dead and six injured. Four of the wounded were taken to hospital, two in serious condition.
Throughout the day, the Russians terrorised Kyiv with drones; the number of injured rose to 45, and two people were killed.
