Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha has commented on Russia’s latest large-scale attack, during which the occupiers deliberately struck major Ukrainian data centres.
The foreign minister stressed that Russia is trying to undermine the operation of systems that warn of missile and drone threats, which save lives and are critical civilian infrastructure.
He emphasised that data centres are not a military target, but ensure normal day-to-day life and access to vital information. Russia is looking for new ways to destabilise the country and deprive Ukrainians of timely notifications, as it has no success on the battlefield.
The minister said that only new sanctions and additional interceptor missiles for Ukraine would help stop the terror.
- On 23 September, Russian forces attacked Kyiv with strike drones. In the capital, hits and falling debris were recorded in several districts.
- Transport companies, petrol stations, warehouses and non-residential buildings came under attack. Railway infrastructure was also damaged. The attack left one person dead and others injured.
- In addition, as a result of another Russian attack, one of the capital’s data centres was damaged, where hub equipment is located.
