Heads of state and government and representatives of international organisations adopted a joint statement during the sixth summit of the International Crimea Platform.
As stated on the MFA website, the signatories reaffirmed their support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. Summit participants stressed their principled policy of non-recognition of the attempted annexation of Crimea, Sevastopol, and the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya Regions.
The statement underlines that the de-occupation of the Crimean Peninsula is a necessary precondition for restoring peace and guaranteeing security in the Black Sea region and globally.
Those present condemned Russia’s war crimes, human rights violations, the deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian children, as well as militarisation and forced assimilation in the occupied territories.
Participants called on the international community to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, in particular against its “shadow fleet”, to demand the release of all civilian detainees and political prisoners, to ensure those responsible are held to account through the International Criminal Court and a Special Tribunal, and to support compensation mechanisms for Ukraine’s reconstruction. Summit participants demand that Russia immediately cease its armed aggression and fully withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine.
