The government of Ontario province (Canada) will provide 1 million Canadian dollars to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
The announcement was made by the province’s Premier, Doug Ford, according to the Ontario government’s website.
The funds will be directed towards repairing and maintaining the critical energy system ahead of winter.
Last year, Ontario supplied Ukraine with energy equipment, including transformers and generators, worth nearly $5m.
In addition, since the start of the full-scale invasion, the province has taken in more than 90,000 Ukrainian refugees, created a $1.9m scholarship programme for students, and also made the study of the history of the Holodomor compulsory in local schools.
