On the night of 26 September, Russia attacked Ukraine with 173 strike UAVs, 134 of which were neutralised by the Air Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported by the Air Force.
"On the night of 26 September (from 18:00 on 25 September), the enemy attacked with 173 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (more than 50 of them jet-powered), Gerbera, and decoy drones of the ‘Parodiya’ type from the following directions: Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo — Russia; the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk and the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea — Hvardiiske," the statement said.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 07:30, air defences shot down/suppressed 134 enemy UAVs of the Shahed and Gerbera types, as well as drones of other types.
Enemy air-attack weapons were recorded hitting 19 locations, and downed drones (debris) falling at 8 locations.
"The attack is ongoing; there are several enemy UAVs in the airspace," the Air Force added.
