On the morning of 26 September, Russian forces carried out several strikes on Zaporizhzhia. The attack destroyed a private house, trapping two people under the rubble.
This was reported by acting head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Mykhailo Semikin.
After the strike, a fire broke out in the house. Rescuers began clearing the debris and searching for two people who may have been inside.
Later, the body of a dead woman was recovered from under the rubble. During further search-and-rescue operations, a second fatality was found.
"A second dead woman was found under the rubble of the destroyed house. Unfortunately, it was not possible to save either of them," Semikin reported.
The morning attack also damaged one of the city’s markets in Zaporizhzhia. Rescuers continue to work at the strike sites and deal with the aftermath of the Russian attack.
