Ukraine is heading into the coming winter with a higher level of preparedness than last year.
Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said this in an interview for the United News telethon.
The head of government noted that the “Resilience Plans” developed were very ambitious, and that even their partial implementation made it possible to significantly strengthen the energy system. According to him, military administrations, community leaders, state-owned companies and ministries carried out a large amount of work.
“This year, more generating capacity has been built. More critical facilities have been provided with additional back-up power. There is more protection for critical elements of infrastructure. There are larger reserves of equipment and spare parts, more repair crews and machinery,” Koretskyi said.
At the same time, the Prime Minister stressed that the enemy is also improving its means of attack, in particular using jet-powered kamikaze drones and stockpiling ballistic and cruise missiles for winter strikes. Because of this, the winter will be difficult.
Koretskyi added that Ukraine has already asked European partners to involve their emergency services and rescue teams, together with equipment and specialists, to deal with the possible consequences of shelling.
