If Ukraine is granted permission to manufacture missiles for the Patriot system, Poland is offering to build such a plant on its own territory.
This was stated by Poland’s Deputy Minister of Defence, Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, TVN24 reports TVN24.
The Polish defence official noted that Warsaw proposed setting up such production because Poland, given the war, is a so-called safe territory.
Sobkowiak-Czarnecka also stressed that Poland’s efforts to establish its own service centre and subsequently launch Patriot production do not depend on decisions regarding Ukraine. Following talks in Washington, the possible granting of licences to Kyiv in no way cancels the Polish side’s agreements and ambitions.
