Ukrainian troops have achieved results on the Lyman axis as part of Operation “Vivaldi”, and are also conducting another active-defence operation involving a formation from the Air Assault Forces.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this.
“There are important results from our troops on the Lyman axis in Donetsk region as part of Operation ‘Vivaldi’, and from the Air Assault Forces formation as part of another of our active-defence operations,” the statement said.
According to him, Russian forces continue to be destroyed on the Lyman axis, and the objectives set by the Ukrainian command are being achieved. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi briefed the President on the situation at the front.
“Overall, this week across all sectors of active fighting on the front line, our units neutralised 10,660 Russian troops killed and wounded. And every such Russian loss is accompanied by video confirmation,” Zelenskyy said.
The most intense fighting is taking place on the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka and Lyman axes. Ukrainian troops are also carrying out tasks on the Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Sumy axes.
The President separately commended servicemen of the 3rd Army Corps and the 68th Separate Airmobile Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush of the 8th Air Assault Forces Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Every such week at the front that becomes ours—Ukrainian in terms of the overall situation—does not allow Russia to deploy greater offensive activity against Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
