Today, 28 September, Vinnytsia City Court found a former lecturer guilty of killing two teenagers in Sharhorod. The tragedy took place on 10 September last year.
As reported by the National Police and the Prosecutor General’s Office, the court found the 24-year-old man guilty of the premeditated murder of two teenagers in Sharhorod and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
According to the case materials, the 15-year-old and 16-year-old boys were travelling on the same bus as the defendant. A verbal altercation broke out between them.
When the teenagers got off at a stop, the man followed them and attacked them with a knife. He stabbed one boy five times and the other 12 times. Both died at the scene from their injuries.
After the killing, the man fled, but within a few hours he was tracked down and detained.
Prosecutors proved in court that the crime was committed due to hostile relations with the victims. The man was found guilty under Clause 1, Part 2, Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the premeditated murder of two people — and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
In court, the defendant admitted his guilt. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force and may be appealed.
