Based on evidence gathered by military counter-intelligence and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine, a 17-year-old agent of Russian military intelligence has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The SBU exposed her in November 2024 for directing air strikes on the Chernihiv region.

The investigation found that, under the guise of taxi rides, the traitor tracked the locations of Ukrainian air defence systems, which the Russian invaders were preparing to target in a series of strikes.
Among the enemy’s main “targets” were combat positions of surface-to-air missile systems and radar stations of Ukraine’s Defence Forces defending the north.
SBU officers documented the spotter’s espionage activity and detained her in the act while she was taking photos and videos of a military facility.
It was established that the minor came to the attention of the Russian special service while looking for “easy” earnings on Telegram channels.
In exchange for the promise of “quick” money, she agreed to travel around the area under the guise of pre-arranged taxi trips for personal errands.
After returning home, the traitor compiled the intelligence data for a subsequent “report” to Russia’s military intelligence.
At the place of detention, officers found a smartphone belonging to the enemy accomplice containing files with the locations of the Defence Forces and an anonymous chat in a messenger app through which she was in contact with her handler from Russia’s GRU.
On the basis of materials from the Security Service, the court found the agent guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
As she was a minor at the time of the offence, the court sentenced her to 10 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation was conducted by SBU military counter-intelligence officers together with SBU investigators in the Chernihiv region, under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
