On the night of 30 September, Russia launched its first large-scale attack on energy infrastructure since the end of last heating season. Although there has not been a single day since the summer when the Russia has not attacked the energy sector, this combined overnight assault was the first of its kind.
There has been damage and destruction. Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyy reported this.
“Local authorities must check the readiness of backup power systems for critical facilities in communities and complete all work on their installation and connection as quickly as possible,” he said.
Overall, Russia has attacked 11 Regions since yesterday. In addition to the energy sector, the Russian forces again struck residential buildings, social infrastructure, civilian businesses and the railway.
As of this moment, 14 people are known to have been injured nationwide. Five people were killed, including a child. The threat of air strikes remains.
