Defence Ministry Has Codified More Than 1,500 Ukrainian Weapons and Equipment Models Since the Start of 2026

Since the start of 2026, the Ministry of Defence has codified and authorised for use in Ukraine’s Defence Forces 1,678 new models of weapons and military equipment. This was reported by the ministry’s press service.

“The pace of codification of domestically produced weapons and military equipment has increased significantly since the start of the full-scale invasion. By comparison, in 2022, 60 Ukrainian models were authorised for use, while in 2026 the figure is already 1,530 — 25.5 times more,” the statement said.

Number of codified weapons and military equipment models by year:

  • 2022 — 110 models in total, including 60 (54.5%) produced in Ukraine;
  • 2023 — 480 in total, including 295 (61.5%) produced in Ukraine;
  • 2024 — 1,409 in total, including 1,051 (74.6%) produced in Ukraine;
  • 2025 — 2,050 in total, including 1,427 (69.6%) produced in Ukraine;
  • 2026, as of 25 September — 1,678 in total, including 1,530 (91.2%) produced in Ukraine.

In addition, the Defence Ministry noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, the share of domestically produced weapons and military equipment for the armed forces’ needs has increased by 67.3%.

As a reminder, as of September, since the start of 2026 the Ministry of Defence has codified and authorised for use in Ukraine’s Defence Forces 650 unmanned aerial systems. Among all types of UAVs, the largest number codified were strike quadcopters — 238 new models.
