The government is allocating more than UAH 50bn for payments to service personnel and their family members. This will make it possible to make payments in October on time and in full.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi.

According to him, the funds will be reallocated from the reserve for the security and defence sector.

"Despite a significant budget deficit, defence is an unconditional priority. We are ensuring the necessary resources for timely and full payments to our service personnel," Koretskyi noted.

  • The government has introduced strict austerity measures and is setting priorities for state spending. Defence, pensions and social benefits will be funded first and foremost, as well as salaries for teachers, doctors and other public-sector employees.
