Over the past 24 hours, from the morning of 2 October to the morning of 3 October 2026, Russian forces carried out almost 80 attacks on 26 settlements across 16 territorial communities in Sumy region. As a result of the strikes, three civilians were killed and another 11 people were injured.
This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
In the Krasnopillia community, a 56-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were killed in an artillery strike on 1 October.
In the Sumy community, a 59-year-old woman died in hospital after sustaining severe injuries the previous day in a guided aerial bomb strike. A 50-year-old man was also injured when an enemy drone hit.
In the Nedryhailiv community, a 20-year-old and a 52-year-old woman were injured after a drone strike.
In the Stepanivka community, a 56-year-old man and four 54-year-old men were injured while repelling an air attack. Another man received medical assistance at the scene.
In the Krasnopillia community, a 62-year-old man was wounded after an enemy drone strike.
A 28-year-old woman also sought medical attention after being injured in an enemy drone strike in the Sumy community.
The highest number of attacks was recorded in Sumy and Shostka districts.
Settlements in the Sumy, Stepanivka, Verkhnia Syrovatka, Bilopillia, Khotin, Myropillia, Yunakivka, Krasnopillia, Seredyna-Buda, Esman, Znob-Novhorodske, Shostka, Putyvl, Nedryhailiv, Trostianets and Velyka Pysarivka communities came under fire.
Russian forces used artillery, mortars, FPV drones, UAVs and guided aerial bombs.
In the Sumy community, a block of flats and a private house were damaged, along with non-residential premises and outbuildings; passenger cars were destroyed and damaged.
In the Seredyna-Buda community, private homes were destroyed and damaged; in Velyka Pysarivka, a private home was destroyed.
In the Znob-Novhorodske community, private homes were destroyed and damaged; in Trostianets, a private home was damaged.
In the Verkhnia Syrovatka community, a passenger car was damaged. In Nedryhailiv, a minibus and an outbuilding were damaged. In the Shostka community, a civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
In the Krasnopillia community, a private home and a passenger car were damaged; in Esman, homes were destroyed.
In addition, in the Shalyhyne, Hlukhiv, Berezivka and Svesa communities, homes were destroyed and damaged as a result of earlier shelling, and a civilian infrastructure facility was also damaged.
Over the past 24 hours, the air-raid alert in the region lasted 22 hours and 49 minutes.
