Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has again summoned Russia’s ambassador, Oleg Ozerov, over Russian drones and missiles that violated the country’s airspace on 3 October and exploded near populated areas.
The ministry stressed the seriousness of the situation and underlined that such incidents endanger citizens’ lives and safety, cause fires and inflict material damage, Newsmaker reports.
The ministry called on Russia to respect Moldova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
- As reported, on the morning of 3 October Moldova’s airspace monitoring system detected several drones.
- According to the Air Operations Service of the National Army, five UAVs were initially detected, and later, during data analysis, a sixth unauthorised flight was recorded.
- Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatîi later уточнив that, overall, it involved three missiles and two drones, whose debris fell in four districts of Moldova.
