Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian Shahed-type strike UAV with fire from a turret mounted aboard the Sargan 3000 uncrewed surface vessel. The Navy published the corresponding video on Facebook.
The footage shows a machine gun mounted on the Sargan 3000 turret firing bursts at the Shahed, after which the Russian UAV falls into the water and explodes.
The Sargan 3000 was adopted into service with the Ukrainian Navy in April 2026. The outlet Militarnyi reported that the uncrewed surface vessel has an operational range of up to 1,600 km, can reach speeds of 40 to 55 knots, and carry up to 450 kg of payload.
USVs have already been used to engage other drones. In particular, in September the Navy reported that it had used one to destroy a Russian uncrewed surface vessel. The Ukrainian craft was equipped with a 12.7 mm RWS Protector remote weapon station.
