Modular shelters are being installed at railway stations in Kyiv Region to protect passengers and railway staff during Russian attacks.

This was reported by the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.

He said he visited one of the shelters at the railway station in Hlevakha. The structure is certified and meets the necessary requirements, and its capacity is 29 people.

Thanks to their design, the modular shelters can be installed quickly. They are placed where there is a lack of permanent protective structures, to strengthen the safety of rail transport amid Russian attacks on infrastructure.

Shelters are also being installed on railway platforms in Vyshneve and Brovary. They are expected to be ready for use in the near future.

Tkachenko added that the regional authorities, together with Ukrzaliznytsia and local communities, are working to expand the project, as there is a need for protective structures at other stations and railway stops across the region.
