Ukrainian company Tencore has expanded the functionality of its AI KIT module for UGVs — the system has gained support for daytime RGB cameras, allowing it to be used both in low light and during the day. The company reported this on Facebook.
As the company noted, development of ground robotic systems previously focused primarily on night missions. At the same time, the practical use of such platforms requires readiness to operate at different times of day.
Support for RGB cameras broadens AI KIT’s capabilities for working with different types of optical systems. According to the developers, this should help increase the versatility of ground robotic platforms and further develop their autonomy.
AI KIT is a hardware-and-software module for autonomous navigation developed by Tencore. It is designed to operate in the event of a complete loss of communications and under electronic warfare conditions. The company recently reported that the module has become part of the Tencore Ecosystem technology environment, which brings together four classes of serially produced ground robotic platforms for military and civilian tasks.
