Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga has met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry.
The foreign minister thanked Finland’s president for his active engagement and support for diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving peace.
“Finland’s steadfast commitment to our shared security remains vital as we work together to defend our freedom, uphold international law, and ensure a secure future for Ukraine and Europe,” Sybiga said.
- Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held talks with Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, who yesterday had a phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. One of the aims of the call was to convey Ukrainian messages directly to Putin regarding the upcoming peace talks in Abu Dhabi.
- Last week in Oslo, Zelenskyy, Støre and Stubb held talks with US special envoy Steve Witkoff. Ukraine, representatives of Europe, NATO and the United States had planned to hold a new meeting in Brussels, but the plan fell through due to a change in the Americans’ schedule.
- Three-way talks between representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia are scheduled for November.
