Russian outlets have launched a large-scale information operation to justify their terrorist drone strike on the railway station in Dnipro, which claimed the lives of 14 people.
This was reported by the Centre for Countering Disinformation.
Kremlin-controlled sources are spreading fakes claiming the station was allegedly damaged due to the work of Ukrainian air defences. In addition, they are pushing conspiracy theories about an alleged deliberate provocation by Ukraine.
The CCD said that at first Russian outlets openly wrote about a drone hitting the railway platform. However, later they began changing posts en masse and tailoring them to versions about air defence activity or an internal provocation.
Such an abrupt shift in rhetoric indicates a co-ordinated information campaign by the enemy. Russia is once again trying to absolve itself of responsibility for yet another war crime and terror against Ukrainian civilians, the Centre for Countering Disinformation stressed.
