Over the past week, Russian forces launched 1,940 attack drones at Ukraine, more than 1,580 guided aerial bombs and 44 missiles of various types, 36 of them ballistic.

Ukrainian President reported this, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

According to him, Russia continues its large-scale attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Overnight into 1 November alone, energy facilities in four regions came under attack — Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr and Khmelnytskyi.

“These are substations, transformers and power lines that supply electricity to our people’s homes. Repair crews are working everywhere. As of now, hundreds of thousands of families remain without electricity,” the President noted.

He stressed the high intensity of Russian attacks and the enemy’s attempts to take advantage of a shortage of ballistic-missile interceptors.

“The intensity of the strikes is very high, and the Russians are trying to make maximum use of the shortage of ballistic interceptors,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the President, Ukraine is constantly discussing with American, European and other partners the need for missiles for Patriot air defence systems.

Zelenskyy noted that this month the United States and European countries adopted new decisions on aid packages for Ukraine. At the same time, he stressed that deliveries of air defence assets cannot be delayed.

“But these deliveries cannot wait for years. Russia is destroying infrastructure and killing our people right now, and is betting on ballistic missiles this winter. Accordingly, decisions on air defence must be implemented now,” the head of state said.
