A temporary deterioration in air quality has been recorded in six settlements in Kyiv Region due to elevated levels of fine particulate matter. At the same time, the overall air quality index in the region remains within safe limits.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Moderate levels of fine particulate matter were recorded in Ivankiv, Bila Tserkva, Vyshneve, Obukhiv, Boryspil and Brovary. According to the administration, dust concentrations in these settlements are gradually decreasing.

No exceedances of permissible levels of chemical and biological substances in the ambient air were detected in other settlements across the region.

The military administration notes that cloudy weather and light rain are helping to naturally cleanse the near-surface layer of the atmosphere of dust and impurities. In addition, a moderate north-westerly wind is helping to mix air masses and disperse harmful substances.

The administration also reported that gamma radiation levels in Kyiv Region correspond to the natural background.
