The High Anti-Corruption Court has ordered acting Prosecutor General Anton Kovalskyi to enter information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations about a possible offence by the head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, Davyd Arahamia.

This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Action Centre.

“Investigating judge Markiian Halabala upheld the Anti-Corruption Action Centre’s complaint about Anton Kovalskyi’s inaction. He must now enter into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations information about a possible offence by the head of the Servant of the People faction,” the statement said.

On 19 October, the Anti-Corruption Action Centre filed a report about Arahamia’s alleged distribution of “envelopes” to MPs in exchange for votes.

According to the Anti-Corruption Action Centre, Kovalskyi did not register the case and instead forwarded the report to NABU, explaining that the Bureau was already investigating the relevant circumstances.

At the same time, NABU confirmed that without the prosecutor general registering the case, it cannot begin an investigation into Arahamia.
