In Norway, a court has ruled that Marius Borg Høiby, the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, will remain under house arrest and must wear an electronic tag while he awaits an appeal hearing against his conviction in a rape case.
This is reported by Reuters.
The decision was made on Wednesday, 4 November. It overturns a ruling by a lower court issued on Monday, under which Høiby could have been released.
As a result, he will remain under house arrest until his appeal against the conviction is heard.
- Last year, Marius Høiby was charged with 32 offences, including violence and sexual violence. Among other allegations, he is accused of four rapes. Høiby is not an heir to the throne, but the scandal triggered by his actions has intensified debate about the monarchy in the country.
