Traffic on Kyiv’s Northern Bridge is being partially restored today, the capital’s mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.
“Experts carried out a technical inspection of the structure. Based on the results, traffic was allowed to resume with temporary restrictions,” he said.
Traffic will be organised as follows:
from the left bank to the right bank – one lane, exclusively for public transport;
from the right bank to the left bank – two lanes for public transport and passenger cars.
Accordingly, bus services are resuming on the Northern Bridge.
Klitschko said specialists are also working to introduce reversible traffic on the Paton Bridge in the coming days to increase its capacity.
- During the overnight attack on Kyiv on 7 November, the Russians launched six missiles towards the Northern Bridge. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, four missiles hit the city.
- Earlier, the Patrol Police reported that Kyiv had introduced a temporary traffic scheme on Roman Shukhevych Avenue in the direction of the Northern Bridge. Drivers were being directed to diversion routes via the Podilskyi bridge crossing.
