President Petro Poroshenko has signed Law of Ukraine on Amendments to Subparagraph 24 of Chapter VI "Transitional Provisions" of the Budget Code of Ukraine, according to his official website.
"We have made everything possible to find over 3bn hryvnyas that will now be allocated to local budgets of Donetsk and Luhansk regions for prompt restoration of Donbas," he noted during the teleconference with Kramatorsk where the leadership of Donetsk and Luhansk regions convened.
The president emphasized that the Russian aggression had severely affected Ukraine: many Ukrainian warriors and civilians killed; buildings, schools, hospitals, kindergartens and infrastructure facilities destroyed. "Every citizen who has come through such a disaster as occupation with daily shelling, loss of the near and dear and temporary inability to come back home should see that the state cares about him," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
"All funds collected for Donbas will be controlled. For this end, the ProZorro electronic public procurement system will be used," he noted. The president is confident that Ukraine can demonstrate new approaches to the terms and efficient use of money.
He also recalled the plans to set up a Fund of International Partners of Ukraine, which will allow the attraction of additional financial resources for the restoration of Donbas.
