At 6.30 on Thursday, the Russia-backed militants in Donbas began the shelling of the town of Toretsk from mortars, the head of the Donetsk region police Vyacheslav Abroskin said.
"At 7.20 they began shelling the residential sector of the peaceful town. They hid the buidings on street Festivalna and Pavlova. The police have no information as yet about the casualties among peaceful citizens," – Abroskin wrote on Facebook.
When the shelling subsides police teams will inspection of damaged houses.
